Vancouver Island Brewery

Our favorite brewery (and some of our favorite people) have joined our Jumpship family once again.

Some of the best (and most recognizable) beer to come from the Island in the last few years has come from Vancouver Island Brewing. Makers of the strong and flavorful Herminator, the easy-drinking Pipers Pale Ale, and an ever-changing range of seasonal beers- as creative as they are delicious- V.I.B. has been quenching thirsts for 30 years!

VIB’s popularity means that you can find their product pretty much anywhere- at most liquor stores, and on tap in good pubs and restaurants across BC. And if you can’t find it there- ask for it anyway!

Volunteers

AHOY, VOLUNTEERS!

We need a few good hands on deck!

Traffic. Course. Venue. Safety. 300 Volunteer Positions.

Jumpship 2014 is an invitation only competitive freerider event held at Bear Mountain Resort and is produced by Dockside Mountain Bike Society (DMBS), a non-profit organization, whose purpose is to act to preserve and increase mountain biking access on south Vancouver Island.

On October 3rd-5th more than 20 local and national riders will compete at Bear Mountain over two days for more than $6,000 in prize money. Jordie Lunn, a legendary freerider on the competitive circuit, has designed a course that will see riders getting 25 feet of air over cart paths with gaps of up to 40 feet before crossing the finish line just in front of the Westin Bear Mountain.

Jordie Lunn, who was raised on Vancouver Island, is known for challenging and awe inspiring course designs loved by competitors and fans alike. “A mountain resort destination and partner like Bear Mountain ups the game for the sport of freeriding on Vancouver Island,” said Lunn. “It’s a fan-friendly venue with natural mountain topography - a perfect place to build a world-class course.”

This is where our volunteers come in! As JumpShip is an exciting spectator event we are expecting upwards of 1000 people to attend each day to enjoy the Beer Garden & Food Vendors while watching the riders fly above. We need volunteers to ensure spectator and rider safety, assist with parking & direction, food & beer garden and course logistics.

No cycling experience necessary, just the enthusiasm to join our team and make a difference in your community! Our Volunteer Crew provides a variety of opportunities (age 16+) in many categories that include pre-event, event day and post-event volunteer activities.

Training will be held on Sunday, Sept 28th 4-5:30pm and Tuesday, Sept 30th 7-8:30pm at Bear Mountain Resort. When you registered to volunteer please include training date and days/times you are available to assist us!

All volunteers are guaranteed an incredible experience, a JumpShip t-shirt and our deepest gratitude for making our event a success!
